Which schools give big debate scholarships?

My D wants to go to GA Tech, but they don't have debate. Any ideas on great schools that give large debate scholarships?

She's interested in aerospace engineering, but environmental engineering is also an interest.

She has average grades, average everything (88 average, 82 core) - except for debate - the girl can argue!!

It's very frustrating trolling this site to see all these kids with AP everything, who have done everything short of discovering a cure for cancer, who have trouble getting into their dream schools.

If I can offer a word of advice - you may not get into the absolute best school - and that is whatever school you have determined is the best for YOU - but you will get in somewhere - so make the best of that!

Have fun in college - learn, explore all there is, experience it all - even if it doesn't 'count' toward your GPA - your work career will start soon enough!!
Though, if you're smart, you'll find every opportunity to learn there as well as in school!

…Hmm.. None as far as I know. Debate isn’t big in the US and we tend to fail on the world stage. Look to Toronto,McGill,University of Ottawa, University of Sydney as well as Oxbridge,Glasgow…etc if you have the AP scores needed for the UK.

I would recommend Toronto, It is a really nice city, very well respected worldwide and has the best debate team in the world.

I disagree that US debate “fails on the world stage”. The top two Tspeakers at the World Universities championship two years ago went to Yale. The real issue here is that there is little overlap between schools with strong debate programs, schools with aerospace or environmental engineering, and schools that offer large debate scholarships for otherwise “average” students.

Public Speaking /=/ debate

That is why I said Toronto, They have the best debate team IMO and their Aerospace Engineering program is strong.
