Which schools have the best anthropology programs?

I'm interested in getting my bachelors in anthropology, and I was curious which schools are known for their programs? (Oh, and I'm not quite ivy-league material, but I'm definitely top tier, 3.8 uw, 4.3 w, 2000 SAT, 31 ACT.)

Look into Michigan and Chicago

Are you looking for a program that’s culture-specific? For example, the University of Hawaii has an excellent Anthropology program, but it’s almost exclusively Polynesian/Oceania focused.

It’s a better strategy to choose the college as a whole, not a specific department. Students often change majors. As far as I know, there is no comprehensive, reliable ranking for undergraduate anthropology departments. Even if there were, it would not show which one is the best fit for a given person.

Below are some possibilities.

Universities with highly-regarded graduate level anthro programs
Berkeley, Duke, Michigan, Chicago, Arizona

LACs with high PhD production rates in anthropology
Beloit, Bryn Mawr (women only), Grinnell, Haverford, Wesleyan

Universities that have made the Rugg’s Recommendations list for anthropology include:
Brandeis, Case Western, Florida, Illinois, UCLA, U Washington

LACs that have made the Rugg’s Recommendations list for anthropology include:
Barnard (women only), Colorado College, Macalester, New College of Florida, Pitzer, Skidmore

Thanks guys! that was exactly what I was looking for.
