I am an MS in EE, and currently working for storage company since last 2 years, I want to increase my knowledge in S/W field and gain double degree in S/W and business field. Does any1 know what are the good schools in bay area SF which offers such dual degrees.

There are only two business schools worth going to in Northern California: Stanford and Berkeley. If you are willing to venture south, UCLA is also decent and USC is passable. Those are pretty much the only programs worth the time & investment in California.

I’m not sure about the MS in software, but Berkeley and Stanford are also tops in computer engineering and electrical engineering. CMU also offers graduate degrees through a satellite campus in Silicon Valley.

What do you want to do after graduate school? Do you want to continue along a technical track or do you want to break into the traditional post-MBA careers like management consulting or investment banking?

Engineering/technical employers (even the very top ones) are generally pretty egalitarian and willing to hire a graduate of any school as long as he/she knows her stuff. There are many decent schools in the Bay Area where you can get a good education and land a good technical job if you do well. Stanford, Berkeley, SFSU, SJSU, Santa Clara, and probably others.

Top MBA employers are the exact opposite. Hiring into management consultancies, high finance, and top level management positions is very pedigree driven. There are only a handful of schools in the entire country that such employers will even consider hiring from. On the west coast those schools are Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA, and maybe USC - in that order. Really. The bottom of the class at Stanford will have significantly better opportunities than the top graduates of even a school as good as USC.

So figure out what you want to do. If you want a career in business shot for the top schools. If you want a technical career, then go wherever you feel you will do well.
