Which schools have a guaranteed admission if you meet certain requirements?

For Example: UOregon has guaranteed admission if you have a gpa of 3.25 or above.

bump this shiz

i think U of Texas have top10%student guarantee....

Many of the larger state schools are numbers driven & pretty much automatically admit students that meet their GPA and/or standardized test score requirements. Some explicitly state these numbers while others don't. There are some larger schools that don't even require any recommendations. Try beginning your search with the larger state/public Us in your area.

A couple I am aware of: You are guaranteed admission to a UC (but necessarily one of your choice) if you are a California resident in the top 4% of your high school class. Similarly in Texas, you are admitted to any Texas public university you apply to if in the top 10% of your high school class but you are not guaranteed your chosen major.

U of Missouri - Columbia (at least two years ago when it was my daughter's safety) has guaranteed admission for anyone with the minimum number of courses in the specified areas and a minimum ACT score of 24. One needn't be a state resident or have a particular GPA or class rank.

Iowa, UNI, and ISU guarantee admission to students if they meet HS course requirements and are top 50%. State law so I think they have to be instate.

Texas Tech has a sliding scale of assured admission. Top 10% gets in; as class rank goes down, the minimum required SAT or ACT goes up. http://www.admissions.ttu.edu/frshinfo.asp

Nothing here indicates one must be a Texas resident. Graduation does have to be from an accredited school, however. The latter isn't required by Mizzou -- they apply the same requirement to homeschool applications.

I should have mentioned the Iowa schools myself. I went to one of them. As I recall, the top 50% is for instate; anyone interested (go Cyclones!) should doublecheck.

A friend still in high school asked her GC today...it is only instate for the 50% in Iowa. And I agree, Go Cyclones!!

Look for a school that fits you, not one with gauranteed acceptance. What a waste of talent.

If you find a school that could work for you AND you can get in guaranteed, it is a major stress reducer when waiting to hear from matches and reaches. Cases have been discussed here where people don't even get into what they viewed as their safeties and they have to take a gap year or to the local community college.

Of course, as the old CC saying goes, love your safety. For you may end up going there ...

Well I figured out an answer to my question.

I'm going to apply rolling admissions for one of my safeties and if I don't get in I will just apply to Oregon as my guarantee.

Thanks for the help

FWIW, I loved my years in Oregon & my niece is a happy senior there. It has a wonderful college town & great bike paths!
