My son has never expressed any interest in University of Dayton, yet he received a minimum of 3 mailings per week from them for 2 months. Then a rep from the school called us. When we said he was NOT interested, the mail slowly trickled off. Now it's started up again. Plus they send him several emails every week! (We have an unusual last name, so it's not likely that they have him mixed up with someone else).

Which colleges have inundated your kids with unwanted advertising?

I applied two years ago, but I still remember tons of mail from WashU and Evansville. WashU even offered me a free trip to campus (which I took) and I ended up applying to the school

Oh, I agree MarathonMan88. It's got to be NYU followed second by Mercyhurst.
I think we only got one piece of mail from Case Western maybe because we live close by.

I don't really fit in with this...no 1 college has been sending me a ton of mail...but almost all of the mail I receive goes straight into the garbage pile.

On second though, I've received about 5 things from Alabama in the past two weeks...

WUSTL...DD got a ton of mail from them, something almost weekly for almost two years. The bottom line was that she did not have the stats to consider applying there at all. Also, we're not talking xeroxed paper flyers...we're talking color glossy brochures and other info. Expensive and too much of it.

University of Evansville sends me brochures weekly. It also, unfortunately, seems to have entered me in its database twice. Meaning that I get two copies of everything! I mourn for the trees that vile institution kills.

LSU is also rather obnoxious.

I live in St. Louis, so WUSTL only gives me the token "Looking for a school close to home?" sort of thing. And whenever a letter starts out like that, I replying with a resounding "No thanks!"
