Which schools send you the most mail?

Alverno

Penn.

My crappy ol' CC. "We miss you!" & "Still time to register!" Blah.

Cornell College

Pensacola Christian College

I used to get a lot more junk last winter/spring. But, I suppose, the courting is almost over. Applications will be in the mail soon.

Sigh. Where did the time go?

Tulane sent me an incredable amount of mail last year! It finally got to the point where I applied to the school, just to get the mail to stop. However they also happened to be the first school I got into, so I was happy...

Coming in a distant second in mail was Cornell.

Ironically the schools that I was really interested in (the UC's) never sent me a thing! In fact the first thing I got in the mail from UCLA (where I'll be in the Fall) was my acceptence letter.

I'd have to say WUSTL, too. At this point I have about 6 applications, 2 of them "special" apps, and about 25 pieces of mail.

D gets emails from Dartmouth and mail from Northwestern and NYU.

WUSTL, Tulane, Emory, NYU, BU, Vanderbilt, UChicago (one of the few i don't really mind getting mail from).
I signed up for Swarthmore, Oberlin, and Vassar.

WUSTL (ridiculous waste of glossy pages with numerous copies of their applications)

Cornell College

NYU

UChicago

Bentley (?)

I received a ton of mail from Hampton-Sydney, followed by WUSTL a close second.

Keuka college has sent me the same postcard 3-4 time a week for 3 months. How did I get on the mailing list that many times?

Brown actually sent me their generic "We Have a Summer Program" letter quite a few times. I'm not sure why I would end up on a list for a simple summer program for anybody who can pay more than once, but the letters were all identical and came many many weeks apart, strangely enough.

Wash U (73 pieces of mail...many of them repeats)

[huge gap]

everything else

NYU, definitely NYU.

Miami of Ohio
Carthage College in Wisconsin
PITT

I got a bunch from the following schools:

Kalamazoo College
Case Western University
University of Miami (FL)
Drexel University

1a. WUSTL
1b. Dickinson College

These schools sent me enough junk mail to help me assure not to apply there, im sick of these schools... WUSTL cant even spell my name right, and Dickinson keeps sending the same info over and over again.

Hon Mentions:
Tulane
NYU
U. Central Florida

WUSTL...hands down...

Before admission results: WUSTL. It was about 8 inches thick, all the thing they sent me only to reject me later.

Bowdoin sends applicants really plenty of letters (although combined all are not too thick)--- Each letter for a specific business, like informing me each time there was a change in my apps. That felt really redundant. They should rather use online tools.

WUSTL wins by a large margin. I think I received 80+ brochures, applications, etc. from them, asking me to come. Then again, they did waitlist me in the end. snickers

Doesn't make all that much sense to me. It seems like a lot of wasted money for schools to send materials to students who don't fit their profile & who will likely get rejected or waitlisted.

We've gotten tons of mail from so many schools, many since about 7th grade or so. I also think WU St. L sends out tons of stuff. Tulane, many LACs, even HYPs have blitzed my son with materials, tho I'm not quite convinced he fits the profiles at many of the schools either. Many are super reaches while others are safeties he isn't seriously considering. It's gotten to the point that he won't open his mail any more & doesn't really know what to do with all of it, even if they offer a possible free plane ticket to come & look at their campus if he fills out a postcard & sends them a transcript!

I wish schools wouldn't overwhelm our kids like this. It does seem to just get them irritated & sometimes make them refuse to consider those schools. It also seems a horrible waste of money, that could go toward reducing tuitions!

My friend said her NMF son applied to only 5 schools: UWashington (accepted), USC (accepted with partial merit scholarship), Stanford (rejected), Harvey Mudd (waitlisted) & UoPacific (accepted safety). After lots of discussion, he chose USC & went there with about 100 other entering freshmen from HI because with their scholarship the net price is the same as UW. 5 does seem like a sane number of schools to apply to & is much lower than lots of other folks I've read about.
HImom

I kid you not. WashU was sending me stuff at the end of my 7th grade year.

Army ROTC, does that count as an institution? I get two in a day, then some the next day, and I don't open it but think it's important so it piles up....and it ends up being the exact same paper: "You have not completed the following components of the Army ROTC Application..." I'm not applying to ROTC! I didn't send in the application! They won't leave me alone!

I get telephone calls from the Navy, but I'm actually interested in NROTC.
