Which schools send you the most mail?

Tulane

Drake

Carleton
then it's a really big cap
UM-Twin Cities

WUSTL
University of Chicago
NYU
Carleton

Case Western.

This was the only school that sent me a substantial amount of mail before, during, and after I applied there. My other schools sent occasional mailings, but nothing to that extent.

Oddly, I can't remember ever receiving a single piece of mail from WUSTL (maybe in part because I never applied there).

WUSTL, of course. It's obsene.... they so nakedly play the US News manipulation game (they are NOT #11 in the nation) that there should be some sort of penalty.

I've received plently from Reed, but as I actually requested most of it so I don't mind that much.

Cornell
UCF
Marist (My lack of interest in Junior Fast Track)
Northwestern (which I've actually visited, though)

this is ridiculous. i'll be transferring into an LAC called The cooper union and i barely get any mail. All i got was,

the acceptance package which included 1) a letter requesting me to mail a letter confirming my acceptance, 2) a letter requesting me to send in my second semester grades by a certain deadline 3)other stuff

later on, I got the credits which they accepted from my prior college

later on, I got the health and insurance criteria

finally, I had to request them to re-mail me an orientation letter

I requested a DVD, and Notre Dame sent me a HUGE mail with a thick course guidebook, school magazine, DVD, school banner (??), and a bunch of other stuff. The admissions officer who's in charge of my region wrote me a note. I don't think I'm even that qualified of an applicant.. am I supposed to get flattered and get my hopes up!?

Washington U In Freaking Saint Louis. Someone should hold a protest against the obscene amount of trees they're killing for a really digusting and desperate display of student wh*ring. Ridiculous. They just don't deserve their spot in the top 15 on the U.S. News rankings.

Tulane has sent me a BUNCH of stuff, although it's largely died down. I think they've gotten the point.

Central Florida will not stop sending me emails entitled "Deciphering the college applications process."

But without doubt. WUSTL. The first college I ever got mail from sophomore year. First college I got an app from. And enough stuff to fill several drawers had I kept them.

Now that I think about it, I'm kind of glad I'm not all that much mail...I guess I can enjoy my summer without having to bother about new mail.

Washington University in St. Louis--Very irrating, and they waitlisted me

Tulane

St. Olaf College-They're still sending me mail eventhough it's the end of August.

they bombard students with marketing....over and over and over, week after week after week, fancy glossy brochures and application solicitations....much of it by fedex!!!.....has to cost tens of millions a year. But is has paid off, because they have duped the folks at US News and many others. The marketing works, generates tons more applicants, and enables the school to say it is being highly selective and that only a small percentage of total applicants are accepted. This in turn generates even more top applicants who feel if the stats reflect Wash U is harder to get into, then they should apply. I have to hand it to the directors at Wash U -- this clever marketing ploy has worked like a charm over the last decade and catupulted the school in the rankings. Don't get me wrong....this is a fine school with a nice campus....but imho it deserves a ranking in the top 40 or so, not top 10. ....certainly not above schools like Brown, Cornell, Rice, etc. Somebody really ought to clue in the editors at US News.

haha, I get something from WUSTL like every other week. Also, University of Miami and University of central florida, and St. peters College, wherever that is...

I feel like WUSTL is the notorious school that everyone on this sit hates. It's kind of funny...

WUSTL is ranked #3 in the med. school rankings right after harvard and hopkins. You telling me this is also because of the mass mail bombardment strategy as well?

yes, WUSTL is the Milli Vanilli of colleges.....like I said, a fine school.....but they bought all their rankings with marketing bombardments imho.......some kids get 35 or more mailings!!! . Outrageous.....US News has lost quite a lot of credibility among nearly every student and every parent I know for its WUSTL pick as number 9. If it weren't for the mass marketing, it would be around 50 or 60.......whereas Princeton, Yale, and Harvard without marketing would still all be at the top.....Med school is irrrelevant to undergrad rankings.

I have gotten AT LEAST like 5 applications from Carnegie-Mellon. There has to be some kind of glitch right? Because if they wanted me to apply THAT badly, then they would wave the application fee. Why would they send you an application (or two or five) and then ask you to pay. lame.

WUSTL makes me sick. I can't help it. I associate that name with the garbage can. That and Roanoke College (?????????!!!!!????) ;)

Pratt College also sends me lots of mail--whatever college that is. I also get a fair amount from Grinnell and Kenyon.

I just filled out a form requesting more information from WUSTL. Should I be scared?
