I guess that's about it. Which schools should i apply to and which would be a good fit for me? Do you think i can get any partial scholarships to some schools?

Should i apply to Stanford and schools of that ranking?

Is anyone out there?

I don't think your weighted gpa is correct. Normally weighted gpa is higher than your unweighted, and if you average your 9th,10th, and 11th it's a 3.881.

To tell you the truth, I think Stanford doesn't match even as a reasonable reach, I think if you apply you'll probably end up getting lost in all the typical applicants to Stanford, unless you have some incredible hook, then I don't see it happening for Stanford. But if Stanford is what you want or similar schools like that then don't hesitate and apply, but I'm letting you kn ow your chances are slim.

In my opinion, I don't know why anyone in Cali would not want to take advantage of the UC system.

I'm not sure how good their programs are in computer science and computer engineering but I would apply to UCLA, UCSD(match/safety), and Cal Poly(safety), I'm pretty sure your bound to receive merit scholarships from these schools

If I'm not wrong I believe Carnegie Mellon has really strong programs in computer engineering. It would be a match, and if your looking for a name school it's Top 25 in US NEWS.

I've recently been pushing the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on these boards. It's a small undergrad engineering school in Terre Haute, IN that you might be interested in. Check it out: http://www.rose-hulman.edu

For something closer to home, you might want to check out Harvey Mudd College. It's harder to get into, and I think your stats are a little low for it. But you never know!

When a problem comes along you must bump!

anyone else want to help me out

do you want to stay on the west coast?

Like y2kwizard, I too have been pimping Rose-Hulman for students looking for a rigorous engineering education in a liberal arts school setting. I think that you would be a match there. If you are interested in avoiding the unwashed masses at the UC's, then Rose-Hulman might be for you.

Case Western would be another match for you. Join the smart, studious, self-proclaimed geeky students in the heart of America's favorite vacation spot -- Cleveland. I kid because I love.

On a slightly more serious note, you mentioned that you are Armenian. If it is important to you, there are roughly 2,000 Armenians in Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs. Also, there is an Armenian church in the Cleveland area -- St. Gregory of Narek Armenian in Richmond Heights, Ohio. So, given the Armenian population in the Cleveland area, if you get a hankering for basturma, you will probably have better luck finding it in Cleveland than you will in Terre Haute, Indiana.

I don't need to stay on the west coast.

what are my chances to these schools (reach/safety, etc.):

USC
UCLA
UC San Diego
UC Berkeley
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Harvey Mudd
Caltech
Stanford
Cornell
Carnegie Mellon

My guess is that Stanford, Cal Tech and Harvey Mudd are high reaches for you. Cornell is a reach. And the rest are match/safety.

What do you want to major in?

computer science/engineering
