Which schools should I apply to?

Hey guys! I'm kind of new to CC, but I was wondering if you could give me some advice on which boarding schools would be suited to me best. I will list my stats:

Grades
- 8th, straight A's
- 9th, don't have them yet, though I'm taking all honors classes and skipping a grade for both math and French

EC's
- Crew, 10 hrs/wk, currently a novice
- Dance, (ballet, modern, jazz) 6 hrs/wk, pretty high levels
- Speech and Debate, 4 hrs/wk, won various awards
- Volunteer Work, 4 hrs/wk (summer- 10 hrs/wk)

SSAT's- 98% from last year (8th grade)

So this is basically all I have right now. From looking at all the stats postings on this forum, I sometimes feel a bit intimidated by these extraordinary people that apply. Do I have a shot at the top tier schools such as Andover, Deerfield, and SPS? What schools should I look at, based on my interests (crew, dance, and speech)? Also, should I contact the crew coaches at the schools about rowing there? Will they show any interest to a novice rower? Thank you guys so much! :)

excuse me? you think YOU feel? do you even KNOW how i feel right now? ;a;

haha jk jk. i’m glad to see that your ECs seem to have quality (depth) rather than insane quantity that most people have, while devoting around 1 hour a week (which is perfectly fine, but i like dedication…)

i think you definitely have a shot at the top schools. just make sure your essays, interview, and recs SHINE because those are basically the only chances the adcom get at seeing an applicant’s personality, and they must value that a lot, since they mention “adding to the community” a lot. : P

yeah, i’m not sure if that made any sense because i’m on a bit of a caffeine rush but bottom line, i’m sure you have a chance! good luck!!

Thanks DiveAlive, you are a big help and boosted my confidence! :slight_smile: Best of luck to you as well! (I don’t know why I’m worrying now, the season hasn’t even started! I guess I’m trying to prepare the best I can in the summer, plus it’s constantly on my mind…)
