ivys and rly competitve schools (aka stanford, MIT) r not on the list...out of these, i would like safeties and matches and other suggestions...thanks a lot.

U. of Chicago
U. of Michigan
U. of NC
Wash. U.
NYU
U. of Virginia
Duke U.
SUNY
Tufts
Northwestern
Boston University
Carnegie Mellon
Emory

It is difficult to narrow the list without knowing your financial needs and academic credentials. But if I were to take this list down to 6 or 7, I would recommend the following, in alphabetical order:

Carnegie Mellon University
Duke University
New York University
Northwestern University
University of Chicago
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of Virginia

But those are reaches and matches to most people. With the exception of SUNY, none of them are real safeties.
