Which schools would be better...?

I have a long starting list of schools and I need to cut it down to around 10, not sure which ones to cut though. There's a few I really love but the rest I view pretty much equally- what do you think (keeping in mind that I like the ones that I do)

Total List (I know, wayyy 2 long): Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, Duke, Notre Dame, Colgate, Vanderbilt, BC, Hamilton, Davidson, Bucknell, Lehigh, Holy Cross, Trinity, Lafayette, Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall, Providence, Dickinson, Villanova

I really like: Princeton, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Davidson, Bucknell, and Holy Cross

Which others should I keep on the list?

Discard: Duke, Bucknell, Lehigh, Trinity College, Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall, Providence, Dickinson

Davidson is my favorite school on your list as well as Middlebury!

So using pierre0913’s suggestions:

If I add Middlebury to the list, my definites are Princeton, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Davidson, Bucknell, Holy Cross, and Middlebury

And if I take off the ones you recommended against, my total list is:
Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, Notre Dame, Colgate, Vanderbilt, BC, Hamilton, Davidson, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Villanova

That’s 16 schools- any more suggestions of ones to definitely keep or cut out?

Why don’t you order them in terms of reaches, matches and safeties? You might get some more clarity if you see your list is really lopsided.

Any reason PC is listed but Brown is not?

If you really like Princeton, Dartmouth, and Davidson, keep Duke on your list; it’s very similar to the others. Middlebury is very different from the others on your list; Bowdoin would be a much better fit. Going by your stats on another thread,

Reaches- Princeton, Dartmouth, Duke
Matches- Notre Dame, Davidson
Safe matches- Bucknell, Holy Cross

What are your safeties? Add in about two safeties that you know you can afford. That would bring your total to 9, which is a reasonable number.

What are you looking for? What are your requirements? What type of location do you want? What’s your intended major? It’s kinda silly for us to tell you what to cut if we have nothing to base it on.

Huh? Care to elaborate?
