Which science major to choose?

Does anybody have any insight on the best science majors to choose to find a job? I love chemistry and physics, but biology is just okay for me. Any ideas as to what major I should choose? Thanks.

What kind of job do you have in mind? To be honest, a BS in Bio or Chem isn’t likely going to lead to a career. Often you need a grad degree.

*I am applying for either chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or biochemistry. *

You can get a good job with a BS in ChemE. For the others, I think you will need a grad degree.

Are you the Illinois student?

Right now I am leaning toward ChemE and I am planning on hopefully getting at least a master’s. I’m not sure of what career I want, but I do enjoy working in labs and anything regarding medicine seems to interest me.

And no, I am a New Jersey student.

If you’re unsure about your major, apply to colleges strong in the sciences, probably with the availability of Chem E as a limiting factor. There is no reason you have to decide your major now, since you’ve yet to take a single class in college.

If you have further questions, post on the science forum.
