I got a 1300(M+C)/ 1960 (M,W,CR) SAT (Superscored from two tests)

and

A 31 Composite ACT (essay not graded yet)

I would prefer not to send them both if I didn't have to.

Thanks.

A 31 ACT = 1380 (Math + CR) and 2040 (M, W, CR) SAT

The ACT is better. If you send both, i doubt it will hurt you because your SAT isnt awful and they typically use the highest. I would just send the ACT! Nice job on the ACT by the way, 31 is a nice score.

Thank you!! My guidance counselor said that ACTs are not as respected at colleges than SATs and I should just submit my SATs. I felt like I did better on the ACTs though so I just wanted a second opinion. Thanks again.

your guidance counselor should be more informed than that. By giving that kind of blanket statement, he/she could negatively affect admissions chances of some of the students approaching him for advice, especially those with higher ACTs than SAT scores.
