I am applying to a few schools that don’t superscore the ACT (Vanderbilt, Dartmouth, UT). I recently got a 33, which I’m very happy with EXCEPT the fact that my math dropped 4 points to a 29 (don’t know why) from the previous test, where I got a 32. Which ones should I send?
september: 33 composite
-35 english
-35 reading
-29 math
-32 science
or
march: 32 composite
-34 english
-32 reading
-33 math
-30 science
I am applying to econ majors at vanderbilt and dartmouth, and applying to the school of undergrad studies (basically undeclared since I don’t know if I want to do business or compsci) at UT. Which ones should I send? My main concern is my math being so low. My march score seems more well rounded so I’m not sure.
I would send both. Even though they don’t superscore they will notice the higher scores from each test. I believe in the Common App you can self-report the highest section from the tests you’ve taken which you should do. What were your writing scores? That’s another consideration.
Send the September score, unless you are applying to be a math major.
@Falcon1 That might not work at schools like Dartmouth, where they only look at the highest composite if you send them multiple scores.
writing score was a 9 on the march one, haven’t gotten the september one back yet since they post MC scores first. @Falcon1
Dartmouth will see the highest self-reported sections and will have the back-up documentation even if they only officially recognize the highest composite scores. That was my point. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
