I had a quick question about sending scores to colleges. Most colleges that I am looking at require ACT w/ writing OR SAT with 2 subject tests. I just wanted your opinion on whichof these is better since I don't think I can send both to every college.

ACT -

35 Composite (Science 36, Math 33, Reading 34, English 35) with 32 English/Writing (9 on essay :()

SAT -

2210 Composite (Math 790, Reading 750, Writing 670). For Subject tests, 730 on Math II and 700 on Chemistry

Considering I want to major in a science field, which of these tests would be more impressive to send? The only concern I have about my ACT is my writing score.

If you can, send all scores and they will choose which is better for you, the ACT or the SAT plus subject tests. If you definitely cannot afford to send both sets, send the ACT. As to whether the colleges accept ACT in lieu of both SAT and SAT subject tests, make sure you are correct for each particular college – very important to check because one or two of those may still require subject tests if you submit ACT if you are applying for engineering or science. Also be aware that beginning this year Columbia has joined those colleges that accept the ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT subject tests.

How soon should I be sending these scores, should they be sent along with the application or how soon can they be sent and what are the charges to send it.

Actually I think this is more simple than you are making it…

If, and only if, ALL of the schools accept the ACT w writing in lieu of subject tests, the ACT score (especially the english subscore) is far superior to the SAT…

You can send both and let them decide…personally, I wouldn’t but that’s your choice…

You log on to either the college board website and/or [Helping People Achieve Education and Workplace Success | ACT](http://www.act.org) to send scores; they do not go “with” your application and can be sent any time…preferably sooner rather than later so you can check that off your list of “things to do”…
