Which scores should I submit? SAT vs ACT

Hi everyone,

I am a junior who recently took the ACT and the SAT for the first time and got fairly similar scores on both.

I got a 35 ACT (36 E, 36 M, 33 R, 35 S) and 1560 SAT (760 R/W, 800 M).

I am not very sure whether I should submit both of my scores to colleges, could you all give me some advice on whether my scores are sufficient? I am not planning on retaking either tests, but I am not 100% sure whether a 1560 is good enough for top schools.

Just some extra background, I am South Asian and plan on applying to top schools (Harvard, Stanford, MIT, UPenn Wharton, etc) as a neuroscience + economics dual major. Idk if that would factor into the score I need, but are my scores competitive enough for these schools?

Thanks in advance!

1560 is just about the 75th percentile for those schools, so you’re in fine shape. According to online score converters, 35 and 1560 are equivalent. If you’re able to, I’d suggest sending both scores to just to show your capabilities.

If not, I’d suggest the SAT score, because your reading score (760) is a bit higher comparatively than your 33 in ACT reading, but that’s nitpicking. You’ll be fine either way

You’re good, even for South Asians

Your scores are fine for any college. If you can afford to send both, do so. If you cannot afford to send both, pick either, although if you are also sending subject tests, pick SAT in that situation because you get to send both SAT and subject tests for one fee.

It’s a no brainer, send both. Gives you more validation.
