ONE: I want to take the Nov. 3 SATs- today is my last day to sign up for the waitlisted list.
But you know how scores will be sent to the college of your choice right when they come out?
My deadline is Nov. 1 and the website said that SAT scores can be sent to them as long as it reaches them before the Dec. 31 notifications of admittance/deferral/denial. So if I choose to send them the scores, does it send automatically, or can I choose not to do that?

TWO: Say that I don't want to send those scores. Will colleges be able to see that I took the Nov SATs? Will they see that I took it a third time?

THREE: I took AP Chemistry last year. For the Common App, do I HAVE to put in my scores?

Thanks so so so much if you can help!!

If today is the last day … sign up. Don’t fret about your second and third questions. You’ll have an option to direct the scores immediately after the results are out. Even if you wait you’ll have time to meet the end-December dates. Some of the answers to your questions depend to a large extent on the colleges to which you’re applying and their rules regarding which scores to send. So check out the relevant admissions web sites. You’ll have as much control as you’re allowed in regard to when to send the scores, and which scores to send. Check out the college board site. They make it all very clear.

You don’t need to send AP scores. Generally they only matter if you’re expecting to use APs for college credit, to place in language/math courses and possibly to meet pre-requisites for advanced courses.

Hi, thanks for replying!
But I don’t want the colleges seeing my SAT scores if they’re worst, and if they are worst, I don’t want to have them KNOW that I took them a third time.
Thanks!

so will they see the scores if I don’t want them too?
And will they see that I took the SATs a 3rd time?

No, not unless you are applying to one of those rare colleges that insist that you show them every single test you have taken (Yale is one of them). Most are fine w/ Score Choice. Read about it on the College Board site. You can send the SAT sitting that you want to (but you can’t pick and choose from subjects within one SAT I sitting–ie you can’t say “Send my CR but not my Math from the 10/6 test”). So if you hate one of your sittings, don’t sent it–and then the college will never know that you took it then.

If you aren’t confident that your scores will be better, why not just wait until the scores come out and order whatever you want sent then? Unless the scores end up on your transcripts, the schools won’t know about them unless you have them officially sent.
