Which scores to submit?

This has probably been asked before, but I had trouble finding it in search, so my apologies in advance.

The admissions website says that I can submit either:
the SATI and two SATIIs OR
the ACT with writing OR
the SATI and two APs OR
three SATIIs OR
three APs

Does one method have any advantage over another? If I do the ACT with writing, is there any point in me submitting my SATI scores without taking any SATIIs?

Thank you.

What page are you looking at?

[New Standardized Testing Policy for 2011](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

I don’t think there is any advantage over the other otherwise the testing policy wouldn’t be fair. You can submit more scores regardless if you feel like they’re worth putting on though :).

Unfortunately, because this is a brand new policy it’s really hard for anyone here to provide any guidance. There is simply no statistical or anecdotal evidence upon which to base an opinion. On the Standardized Testing Policy Q & A page of the admission NYU has this to say:

How will I know which scores to submit?
Trying to figure this out may be a little tricky for some students, particularly since you often have to decide where to send your scores before you actually take the test and before you know what your scores will be. Our advice is to send us all of your scores, and not agonize over the choice. Using our requirement options, we will use the combination of scores that best presents your candidacy. (Our policy has always been to consider an applicant’s best scores, using the higher of the SAT or the ACT if we had both, and using the higher score from different test dates, so we are used to doing this!)

Isn’t this the same policy as last year?

I sent in my ACT last year, and although I didn’t have to, I sent in 2 SAT Subject Tests (Math Level I and II). I was accepted to Stern.

Ohboi: This is what the Admissions website states: “NYU is changing its policies on standardized tests for students applying to enter as freshmen in September 2011 to provide applicants with more flexibility to demonstrate their talents and mastery of subject matter.”

So apparently they have made some fairly substantial changes from previous years. Here is the main link:
[New Standardized Testing Policy for 2011](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

I read that. I applied for this upcoming school year, and the policy looks basically the same as when I applied. That’s why I asked.

Why didn’t I see that page? Thanks, Meadowland and CASmom! This makes things slightly easier.

Ohboi, the difference between this year and last year is that they now accept the SATI by itself. Before, if you wanted to submit the SATI, you also had to submit either two SATII tests or two APs with it.

Oh, okay. Thanks.
Not really a substantial change…
