I want to adequately convey my passion for nursing/health care to the schools that I am applying to. I also want to explain why, and exemplify the character traits and personal experiences that I believe make me a desirable nursing student. Should I do this in my essay, additional information, extracurricular short answer, or all of them?

The best answer would be all of them. If you truly do have a passion for nursing, it should come out in how you’ve spent your ECs and what you say about yourself.

Thanks for your input. I guess that makes sense. I just don’t want to seem like I am repeating the same information over and over again.

No, don’t repeat anything. Each of these sections are for different things: EC is a list of your ECs, simple; The EC short answer should be about the most important EC which presumably is a health care one; the Additional section is for ADDITIONAL, do not repeat anything already said. The essay also should not repeat, it should not be an elaboration on an EC. Instead, it should be about you. If you are truly into health care then you probably have characteristics of someone who wants to help other people. That’s the kind of thing you should write about.
