6. people are very image-conscious?
7. can i just wear pjs to class...

OOOHHOOH any suggestion as to which labtop i should buy? what brand? what kinda functions do i need for sure?

Well, I haven't joined a sorority but my room mate last year did and went through the whole process during fall rush. During rush, you actually visit all the sorority houses and gradually eliminate the ones you aren't so fond of until you've narrowed it down to just a few you like. Hopefully the sororities that you like, like you too and you'll get bid to join.

you should RUSH the sororities, meaning go meet them during rush week and find out first-hand about them (do note that during rush week, girls tend to be a little more "fake" though). see the other thread on sororities/fraternities for more details.

really, take the initiative to say hi to people and introduce yourself. it's not hard to make friends. everyone else wants to do the same thing. someone has to have the courage to do it.

I wrote two articles on sorority life at UCLA (changed the names). I am linking them here. However, I still would urge you to rush and see for yourself. Ask me if you have any questions.
