Which southern school?

I am currently a sophomore at a community college and about to graduate and looking to transfer. I’m wanting to go to a school in the south because I currently live in the Midwest and hate the cold winters. I’m going to major in elementary education. I’ve been admitted to auburn and started my application to Alabama, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Cost matters some, but not too much, and I do have some family in Birmingham.

Also, I’m not limited to just Auburn and Bama. I’ve looked into FSU, LSU, and Ole Miss as well. I’m open to all suggestions.

The states of Florida, Mississippi and Alabama do not pay teachers as much as the Midwest, but you could come home to teach if you wanted. You will have to transfer your teaching credential to the new state though, if you student teach in the state you go to school in, but decide you do not want to teach in that state. If you think you want to settle in the south, it may be a good plan to transfer to a teaching college in the south.

I like Florida State for teachers education. See if you will have the requirements here-

I’m not sure if I want to settle in the south yet or not. Thank you for all your input, I really appreciate it!
