Which States (and Colleges) Draw the Most Out-of-State Students ... and Where Do They Come From?

Statistics aficionados might enjoy this U.S. Education Department survey I spotted in *The Chronicle of Higher Education *. It shows freshman "migration" patterns. See https://chronicle.com/article/Interactive-Freshman-Class/129547/#id=111948 . As a parent of a high school junior in New England who is considering colleges in faraway places, I'm vaguely interested in the number of out-of-state students (and, particularly, East Coast students) at the specific schools that my son will be visiting. This chart lets you search by college as well as by state. For instance, if a student is looking at Pomona, you can find out how many freshmen from your state (or any other) arrived there in 2010.

That’s one of my favorite college resources EVER. I wish they would update it, though, as it’s now pretty out of date.

Great source of information. Thank you!
