<p>I was wondering which SAT subject test I should take: Math Level 1/2 or Spanish? </p>
<p>I am decent at math but it is not my strong point. I would say that I am above average at Spanish and I have taken it for four years. Thanks.</p>

<p>Math is a tricky thing to figure out. I would also call myself decent at math, but I ended up receiving a 660 on Math I. The appeal of Math I is that the questions are fairly easy (a 10th grader would likely understand much, if not all, of the material) if you study and prepare for the time constraint…but the curve is absolutely awful. One or two questions wrong, and you’re likely down to a 740-720.</p>
<p>But Math II requires genuine studying – at least a month in preparation for the stiffly worded questions and rather obscure subject matter (x-y-z axis area calculations, and the like). The curve, however, is highly in your favor.</p>
<p>If you are relatively decent in math and have the time to spare, try studying for Math II first. If it’s absolute hieroglyphics to you as it was to me (and I’m in AP Calc!), just opt for Math I and study for a week or so before the test. Not on the train before the test, as I did. ;)</p>
<p>As for Spanish, there’s no harm in taking it. I’ve been taking Spanish for 3 years, and scored a 630 on my first try last year. After a semester of AP, I shot up to a 770. So gauge your knowledge of the language, and give it a shot. Know the subjunctive/command forms inside out.</p>
<p>Also, does anyone have any opinions regarding the Bio Subject Test? I don’t know whether or not to take the Math 1 instead, since I’m looking at: Lit, Spanish, Bio/Math 1 in January.</p>
