Hey guys,

I took the US History test (score of 680) and the Math L2 (score of 630 ugh) in June as a junior and wasn't too happy with my scores. I wanted to retake US History and take Lit for the first time in October because I think I can improve to at least the 700's. However, I don't know if I should retake Math L2 because I don't think that I can improve to a competitive score (750-800). Standardized math tests aren't really my thing.

I am planning on applying to the UC's as an Econ major or something in the Letters of Sciences departments. They don't require specific math or science tests unlike the engineering colleges, so I really dont want to stress about studying for math again. I also want to apply to some reach schools, mostly privates like Stanford, UChicago, and maybe Cornell, UPenn, Columbia, or Yale...haven't decided yet. Some of these require 2 subject tests.
I did get a 5 on the AP Calc AB test and the APUSH test, and a 700 on the math section of the SAT I. My match schools are probably Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD.

So I have a few options. I was planning to take Lit and US History in October and wait to see if my scores are good enough to report on UC Apps, which are due on November 30th. Then I guess I could pay a late registration fee to retake in November, but I have limited time to study and I dont think it's worth it. If my scores were bad, I would just send in my UC apps without any subject tests, or maybe just one. So if I chose this, I could wait til December to retake whatever I did bad in, and retake maybe Math L2 if it comes to that? And then once I got my scores, I could report my best 2 on the common app before the deadlines in January... SO HONESTLY i don't know how I should go about this I'm super confused about the best way to approach this. I would really rather relax than cram studying for tests that hardly matter.

I was even debating to take History, Lit, and Math all in October and hope for the best, but I also have to study for the September ACT right now and don't have that much time. I'd love your guys' input on this tenative schedule and any help you can offer. Thank you so much for your help! Sorry for ranting so long, and I hope I didn't confuse any of you.
