Which Subject Tests to send?

I am applying as a cell/molecular biology major, but I am truly interested in Rice’s new neuroscience major! I am trying to determine which subject tests to submit considering I got a 760 in Math 2, a 680 in Literature, and a 650 in Biology M. I will definitely send the Math 2, but I know Rice would like to see a science subject test so I was wondering if submitting my Bio M score would harm me more than it would help me. ANY advice is greatly appreciated!

Everyone has different opinions on what to send. I will tell you my D was accepted in the ED round and did not send SAT II scores. Good Luck!

Before September, Rice’s policy was SAT and 2 subject tests required, OR ACT (no subject tests required). In September, Rice changed the policy to SAT or ACT and two subject tests recommended (but not required), but it seems like Rice will be somewhat flexible this year since many 2022 applicants had already planned their testing based on the prior policy. Whichever you send, the SAT or ACT, you must send the scores from every date you took the test. The debate is whether this applies to subject tests too or just the main SAT. Many have come to the conclusion that it applies just to the main SAT since subject tests are now recommended and not required (and they weren’t even recommended with the ACT prior to September).

I saw from another thread that you have a 35 ACT. Personally, I think subject test scores in the 600s would hurt your application rather than help. I would send in the ACT and the Math 2, but not the others.

Thanks for the advice!
