Hi,
I am a sophomore and shortlisting the summer programs I should apply to as in the summer of 10th grade. I did get into COSMOS for my freshman year (Which I thought was great as a freshman). But there are very few summer programs to apply to as a sophomore as I will still be 15 years old. Can someone please suggest prestigious Summer programs as a Sophomore in the STEM field? I know SSP but don’t see any other good summer research programs?

I’m also in the same situation! I attended COSMOS last year and there aren’t much summer programs for sophomores. YYGS seems too expensive and I don’t see much research programs. I’m wondering if taking courses will be better. Let me know if you find anything!

Sure. For the personal essay, focus on your passion for whatever topic you are passionate about. I wrote about my passion for math and how it has shaped me into someone with a lot of curiosity and an appreciation of collaboration. As for the cluster-specific essay, I connected a lot to the topic I was applying for, as I heard someone say the professors of the cluster read those essays (although I’m not sure if that is true). It doesn’t have to be very related I’m sure. That was pretty much it. Let me know if you have more questions! good luck
