Which Summer Program to attend if accepted to every single one applied to

I have a dilemma as I applied to a variety of summer programs and so far I have NOT received any rejections. I will be majoring in Design/Business/Engineering and would like some feedback on these programs from past participants and experienced individuals as to which program would best suit me.

  1. SIMR Bioengineering Bootcamp - accepted/deciding
  2. Upenn M&TSI - waiting/deciding

There are MANY more but not applicable to this discussion.

I basically need to decide whether I want to go to SIMR or M&TSI, both have design aspects and business/engineering but I’m not sure which will give me the better experience I’m looking for and the prestige that colleges are looking for. I need to reply if I’m going to SIMR by 4/10 but M&TSI might not be released until 4/15…

My top schools are USC, Stanford, UPenn, CMU, and other Ivies so which program will also give me higher chances of getting in; I have the koalafications to get into those schools so don’t worry about that aspect

Does Upenn program pay you?

Basically a program that pays you ranks above one that does not or where you need to pay.

Upenn doesn’t pay me but I do get college credit and one on one attention with the professors of the actual program for undergrads whereas SIMR I get paid a stipend and do a research project with professors as well

Are you nearby for SIMR? It makes it a lot easier to commute, and otherwise that stipend will probably go into funding your housing.

But on the other hand, if you don’t get into UPenn and you don’t accept SIMR, you won’t get to go to either of the programs you wanted to go to.

(By the way, my cousin attended SIMR last year and really liked it; she said it was a great experience.)

I live less than an hour away from Stanford so I will most likely go to SIMR. @topaz1116‌ yea it’s probably not worth the risk of waiting. But I still have a little time to decide
