Which summer reading books are the best?

I'm taking English 4 Honors, and these are the choices for the summer. I'm not sure which books I should read. Which ones are the most interesting and easiest to understand?

I know college confidential isn't Goodreads or a book review website, but help me out if you can!

Book choice 1
Dracula by Bram Stoker
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
The Turn of the Screw/ Daisy Miller by Henry James

Book choice 2
The Distant hours by Kate Morton
Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger
The Haunting Hill House by Shirley Jackson
Rebecca by Daphne duMaurier
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

The Picture of Dorian Gray!

Second The Picture of Dorian Gray. Read it going into my junior year. Never read any of the books for the second choice. The Haunting Hill House and The Thirteenth Tale sound interesting to me, but that’s to my taste.

Don’t read Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Read it in 7th grade and it was horrible

I loved the Picture of Dorian Gray and Rebecca. I’ve read only a few others on that list though.

Picture of Dorian Gray is amazing!!! It’s a must read!

I loved Rebecca! It starts out a little slow, but then it is amazing after that. Definitely my favorite book in Sophomore Honors English.
