Hello! :D Over the summer, I need to read Fahrenheit 451 and one of these:

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths by Bernard Evslin
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
Night by Elie Wiesel

We will be tested on these books for 10% of our first semester grade. I already read Night, but I don't think I'm confident enough with the material. I don't want to read Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths since I'm just not into mythology (please don't hurt me for saying that) :-S If I can't choose one book, I'll get two and decide, after reading, which one I'll be tested on.

Maya Angelou is the best. And that book is awesome. I also loved Night. I would either read night again or read I know why the caged bird sings.

I don’t know about the others, but I have heard Ender’s Game is AMAZING. It is within the sci-fi genre if you’re into that. Night is good, as you have mentioned you read, but it is also a very serious read compared to the others, but compelling nontheless.

I read Night in middle school, actually. It’s actually very insightful. It’s written as a reflection from somebody who lived in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. Really eye-opening and helps you understand just how terrible the Holocaust really was.

I love Fahrenheit 451! I shipped Guy and Clarisse so hard.

Anyways, I haven’t read any of the others personally (though they all seem intriguing and I want to), but I’m most drawn to Tuesdays With Morrie and I Know Why The Caged Birds Sing.
