I am extremely interested in becoming an animator(probably 2D). I want to apply to SVA, but I’ve never taken any formal animation classes before. I’ve been learning as much as I can the last few months with videos and guides. I have a probably above average portfolio with 3 years of drawing/painting classes(my best work is a still life of a sculpture and motion sketches), 3.67 GPA, and a 35 ACT score. I also have had multiple internships creating graphic design pieces that are now in the public sphere(presentations, postcards, social media graphics, etc). Would I have a better chance applying to design and transferring? Any advice?
