9th grade precalc teacher who thinks very very very VERY highly of me, and is my junior class council sponsor.
10th grade ap physics 1 and 11th grade ap physics c teacher who generally thinks positively of me but overall isn't very enthusiastic about students and recommendation letters.
The downsides are that one was from 9th grade, and the other may very well be unenthusiastic in the rec letter. Which is the lesser evil, and which should I go with?
are those really your only 2 options? no other math teachers from later grades? Of the 2, yes, they do generally suggest jr/sr year teachers, but you do at least have some ongoing relationship with the 9th grade teacher, and an enthusiastic evaluation is definitely preferable to a ‘meh’ one.
So, my 10th grade AP Calc BC teacher doesn’t write recs for students at all, and I’m taking GA Tech Calculus in 11th grade (can’t ask professor for rec because I’ve never seen him face to face), and next year I’m taking GA Tech Number Theory.
