SAT II (June 2013)
Biology M — 760
Math II — 710
US History — 750

Harvard and Princeton require all of my SAT/ACT scores and two of my SAT IIs, but I'm also applying to USC, UChicago, Penn, Michigan, and Boston, which all require ACT or SAT scores. Which scores should I send? Do some of the universities prefer specific scores?

Is it true that UChicago doesn't consider SAT II scores?

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking of doing for UPenn (I used the free scores at Harvard and Princeton, so it’s too late for that.) I forgot to bring my calculator to the SAT II, unfortunately. I was really hoping for a much better score.

Do you think I should exclude my Math II scores for UMichigan, Boston, and USC as well? They have decidedly lower standards when it comes to standardized testing. I’m thinking right now that I’m only going to send Math II to Boston.

Since your Superscore is 2320, they’re close, but my choice would be the ACT since you only had one sitting. Send 2 Subject tests to the schools that require them, and even those that don’t if you don’t care about the cost.

Colleges give equal weight to both SAT & ACT.

UChicago says they don’t require Subject tests, that doesn’t mean they don’t consider them if you submit them.

@entomom: Thanks for the help. I was going by the CollegeBoard site, since I couldn’t find anything on UChicago’s page. There, it said that USC and Boston consider the scores, but it gave no indication for Chicago’s treatment of subject test scores.

Also, If I’ve already sent ALL of my SAT scores to Harvard & Princeton, should I worry, or will they still look at the “superscore?”

I definitely agree with what you said above — my ACT score is more impressive than my SAT score, and therefore, I would send the ACT rather than the SAT. That said, do you think it would be better still to send both, thus showing that I’ve been successful with both types of test? The cost of sending the extra test is not really an issue.
