I am an incoming high school senior and I want to start applying to colleges early. I have taken the ACT three times and the SAT once. Here are my scores.
In theory, the 34s on the ACT are marginally higher than the 2190 on the SAT, but I would go ahead and send them all. It shows that you handle both tests equally well, and that there isn’t anything fluky about your scores.
Your act scores are the superior ones without a doubt. I think most colleges nowadays superscore (obviously check for the specific schools you are applying to)and if they do then on the act you have 35. You might have a 36 if they include the 35 reading score from the non-writing act (I know most schools don’t accept the non-writing act by itself but I’m not sure if they will take certain scores from it to add to your super score). Even if they dont superscore at all though a 34 is equivalent to around a 2250 sat which is much better than your 2190.
^^^^ A 2250 SAT is not “much better” than a 2190, it is slightly better.
Very few schools superscore the ACT.
And if you bother to do the math, you will see that both 34s are actually rounded up high 33s, so that there really is essentially no measurable difference between the ACT and SAT scores.
I would send both. While your ACT score is better than your SAT, sending both would show that you’re pretty good at both tests. Are you planning on taking the SAT again? Your SAT scores may be likely to increase the second time around.
