Which test should I take first, ACT or SAT?

I am currently a sophmore in high school and I plan on studying over the summer. My question was which test should I take first? Which one is easier? I am also going to be studying for the PSAT, so could I study for the SAT at the same time?

SAT first. You will learn to take the test under limited time, of which the pressure is much worse on ACT. I.e. 75 questions in 45 minutes for the English section. Both tests are hard to get great scores on, but test takers say score improvement is more likely to have a larger increase with the ACT than the SAT. Both tests have their own traps; the CR of the SAT stumps most, whereas the science gets most people on the ACT. Usually you’re either good at one or the other.

Is it true that the SAT is seen by colleges as more prestigious than the ACT?

Is it possible to study for the PSAT and the SAT at the same time?

The PSAT is “pretty much” the SAT without an essay.
The ACT and the SAT are both equally good.

PSAT is a super broad indicator of SAT score. For example, my PSAT score was 215, but my SAT score is 2280.

The ACT’s curves are kinder to middling students, like the 22-30 range who end up scoring higher on the ACT than on their SAT. However, near the pinnacle, the curve becomes incredibly steep for the ACT: -0 = 36, whereas on the SAT, -1 or -2 might still net you an 800. It depends on how you feel you will do, but either one is applicable as a starting point.

Yes the curve is ridiculous for ACT. On math and English you cannot miss any for a perfect score. And I think science and reading only 1. But for ACT usually if you get like a 32 or higher it is impressive; for SAT maybe above 2000.

I only have a 1900 SAT but took the ACT and got 32 for my first time, which is a good start
