Which tests to take?

The school I want to apply to asks for either the ACT, SAT, or two SAT subject tests. Is it obnoxious or impressive to send them all? Can you take TOO many SAT subject tests? Ahhh.

What college? I am not aware of any that allow you to submit either the ACT OR the SAT OR two subject tests. I am aware of NYC and Middlebury which have that three-way option but it is three subject tests not two. Then there are a number that require the SAT and two subject tests, OR alternatively to both of those, you can submit ACT.

For majority that require subject tests, submitting more subject tests than required helps only in that they use the highest two to determine admission and thus taking a third and scoring higher than one of the two you took previously helps. Some that require two subject tests will consider any submitted. Harvard and Princeton so state. However, they will also consider additonal lower scores against you so be careful what you choose to do or submit.

Looking at Trinity, they require one of the above. So you would only send your best two? (assuming you chose subject tests?) Which do you think would be most impressive??

If they require only two you can pick which two to send unless college requires you to send all (a number of the “all scores” colleges apply the requirement only to the SAT and not subject tests so you can still use score choice as to those). Math 2 is always a good choice, second one could be something related to choice of major. Most important, however, when you can send any two, is to choose ones you believe you can really score high on.
