Go to Emory. That should be an easy option if that is your dream school. Ivy League means nothing if you are not going to be as happy there as you would be at Emory.

Dream school.

iâd go to emory. itâs a great school and you sound like youâll be a lot happier there. follow your heart!

Do you like the South? Do you see yourself living in the South eventually? If so, you will not lose anything by choosing Emory. I think it still has a bit more of a regional rep than Brown doesâbut its national rep has risen a lot.

But really, go with your gut. Theyâre very close.

I read this thread and found quite a bit of BS floating around.

1 Brown has frats.

2 "âIn fact, USnews ranks Brown 16th and Emory 17th⊠that pretty much means they are academic peersâ

That is a hugely gross misinterpretation of a ranking system, and a misunderstanding of its value. Itâs more about what you want and your intended major. Brown is tops for Bio, no idea about Emory. Using U.S. News to compare schools and their educational offerings is like, uh, using Yelp to buy a car.

3 "The Ivy League is an athletic conference. "

That it may be, but itâs an athletic conference comprised of the best schools in the country. Ignoring that fact is only convincing yourself that itâs meaningless. It isnât.

âIn fact, USnews ranks Brown 16th and Emory 17thâ

USnews isnât a good indicator, as someone already mentioned. Brown is usually regarded on par with Dartmouth and Columbia, despite persistent relatively lower ranking.
