So i have a few days now to decide which college i want to attend. And i am split between berkeley and usc for engineering. I got a scholarship from usc, so it evens out to about the same cost as cal, so cost isnt a factor for me. I visited both schools, and i really like usc and the campus. I did a summer program there, and i enjoyed it. i feel i do have more opportunities at usc because they are privately funded, and their money isnt dependent on the state. but cal, has the name. i visited cal, and i like the campus, but i didn't like the environment around campus (but it doesn't matter much because i will be on campus more). When i talk to family friends, they always say go to cal, because when i apply for a job, anyone will choose cal over usc. but whenever i tell people i am considering usc, they always look at me in confusion, because not many know of usc. which one will be better for the future?

Berkeley engineering, of course…

I would go with Berkeley although I think USC is also good for engineering.

I have the same problem as you. I think Viterbi is a good school but Cal has the reputation that would look good on the resume.
My parents convince me to choose USC because it’s closer to home.
Tell me what your decision :)

Berkeley easily.
