Which to choose?

I have 2 quite good essays written for some supplements and I do not know which to send to every school as Common Application. One of them is for Bard, and answers the question:

If you were given a grant to research a scientific or medical issue that you deem important to the world, what would it be, why did you choose it, and what kind of research do you think has the greatest chance of being productive?

My counselor, who has worked with many students admitted to top schools, told me to send that one to all schools because it shows maturity in thinking. However, in my opinion it doesn't say much about me other than what I think. I say that I started from an opinion I had as a child, but that is all.

My other essay is much more personal and detailed. A friend of mine told me that she actually imagined what I had written there.

What do you think? Should I send the abstract one or the detailed one?

Anybody???

Well, if your counselor has gotten students into top ranked schools then he/she knows what they’re doing and I would listen to them and submit the Grant essay. Colleges want to know that you’ll be successful at their institution and if you show them your thought process they can tell that you are mature and ready to succeed in college, even though the essay isn’t all about you, it shows them you are prepared to work dilligently.

Choose the one that is the most personal, detailed, honest and revealing.
