Ok, My SAT I is 1870 (680 M, 620 CR, 570 W).
I have a 32 ACT (31 E, 34 M, 31 R, 30 S, 10 Essay).
My subject test scores are: Chem: 780
Math 2: 720
Spanish: 660

I'm worried about my Math 2 score because I'm going to be an engineering major, and I know I can get at least 750. However, my SAT I is even worse and I think I might just retake it for the heck of it. All colleges I've sought information on say that they look at the highest out of the two (SAT I VS. ACT), but I just think it looks bad to have such a low SAT I score. I'm pretty sure I'll match or exceed my ACT score when converted to the SAT scale if I take the SAT I again. I'm applying to HPSC. What should I do???

I'm sure because I took like 6 practice tests before the SAT I, and all of them were over 2100. IDK why, but I just lost my focus on the SAT the last time I took it (I almost fell asleep on the writing section and left 6 blank :S lol!). I was pretty disappointed when I got my results back.

i took 7practice tests and got 2100 too..and then on the test i got 1750 in oct and 1900 in dec...
funny thing was that i blamed the first time for lack of time, but i thot i did well on the second and still only got a 1900....practice tests aren't that accurate apparently

assuming HPSC means Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, you definately need that SAT I scores up. (That having been said, I recall someone with 1800 something getting into stamford or s.t. like that).

but you had better have a stellar gpa or some good hooks. but if you're retaking you should seriously go for the sat I. For the SAT II math, although I agree that the math 2 can go up, it's not as pressing as the SAT I.

So with reference to your title (sat 1 OR sat 2), i'll say go for the sat 1.
