Which topic should I write about?

Hi :)

I have three topics for my college essay:
1) I have a strongly catholic father. When my sister got her first boyfriend he vehemently opposed. Basically his views and behavior became extreme and caused a big conflict in our family. I'd write about how the conflict affected me: I was the only one not to "take sides". The conflict made me question traditionally catholic views and fixed beliefs. By challenging my father I found my love for debating.

Sorry, I posted too quickly.

 1. I have a strongly catholic father. When my sister got her first boyfriend he vehemently opposed. Basically his views and behavior became extreme and caused a big conflict in our family. I’d write about how the conflict affected me: I was the only one not to “take sides”. The conflict made me question traditionally catholic views and fixed beliefs. By challenging my father I found my love for debating and challenging opinions. Although the conflict hurt my sisters and mother very deeply, I was rather positively affected by it.

2) How one of my classmates once compared me to a soap bar and how that influenced my self-perception.

3) How I always felt extremely happy in the woods behind my grandma’s house and how there was a tree I loved to climb etc. but how it was cut down and how that affected me.

My favorite is the 1st because it tells most about me but I also like the 2nd because it’s quite unique.

Thanks for any help!

If you can make your writing concise and short enough, I would say you could write a paragraph about each, but I personally wouldn’t write about #3…

I wouldn’t do #1 since the conflict was not about you. Yes, you must have been involved strongly in the argument, but you sister’s actions started the conflict, so it doesn’t tell the admission officers about yourself.

2 is interesting, but if not written in the right way, it could just not make any sense

3 eh, skip it

The first one definitely sounds like it has potential, but also I am honestly intrigued by the soap bar. At some point admissions officers have read so many cookie cutter essays that they will kind of love you just for giving them something interesting to read.
