Which type of classes are on curves at UCLA?

I've heard it's only science classes that are on curves. Is this true?

90% of the time this is true. I have had 1 or 2 North Campus classes grade on a curve too, though, and it was usually a good thing.

From my experience, all engineering classes are curved, while most science classes are curved, and most economics classes are curved as well.

i have a question about how a curve class works. if five students get 90% in their work, are they automatically awarded with A's if they are the top five students in the class? what if everyone else scores below a 70%? does that mean those students have to receive a devestating lower grade [ such as a C or even D,F?? ] ??

typically in science classes, the average score of the class is set in the C+/B- range (though gotta luv those classes that have a B+ curve!) which means, say overall the class is worth 550 points and the average is 420, that'll be about a C+/B-. Usually there's a set amount of A's handed out. Take for example, in my physics class this "quarter," my professor said that about the top 15% of the class would receive some form of an A. However, how many students that receive each grade also depends on the standard deviation.

I'm intrested in going into UCLA asa psych major, what is the average curve range for psych classes?

The Psychology curves are generous, or so I've heard (B+/B medians).

The smiley face tells me you are exaggerating?

That's just his signature. . .

I had a lot of economics/poli sci classes on curves.

And no, he's not exaggerating. That's Flopsy's signature.

Thanks for the clarification.
