Which type of engineering should I do?

I like and am good at Math, and good at chem is physics (as long as I don't fall into a memory failure where my brain won't withhold anymore information for awhile...>.<")

I've always been interested in Computers, and robotics, but I also want a career path with a job security in these tough times, but with decent salaries and opportunities at benefits. (depends on where you work I'd assume though)

If you need anymore characterization of me just ask.

I was thinking Electrical???

Computer Science has a very good future. It also keeps future paths open if you decide to go into IT, Finance, or other business related industries. If that’s what you like I would say do it. CS can also sagway into robotics and controlls engineer, which are also solid careers.

I think EE, CE or CS would be good fits for you. Look into those three :)

I’m really trying to stray away from CS due to the fact that the IT world isn’t that nice to its workers and job security isn’t great in tough times like these. Or at least that’s what my says, and that’s whats stopping him from letting me major in it…Unless you guys know something he doesn’t…

Isn’t CS more about programming, and engineering more hands-on??

Robotics can be comprised of electronic part, software part and mechanical part. Which one do you want to specialise on?

It’s all inter-related…huhu

Mechanics/Electric, I can’t see myself glued to a computer anymore than I am now for the rest of my life.

CS =/= IT

Get that out of your head now.

^ lol if CS majors are in trouble, I’d hate to see what you thought of engineering majors.

If you’re worried about employment trends, go see the BLS OOH. Just google that. Good stuff.

If you’re interested in computers but want to do electrical stuff too, then “computer engineering” is what you’re looking for.
