Which UC is the least racist, Davis or Santa Cruz?

I've been reading a lot about these schools and they seems pretty segregated, and racist, is it all not true?

Is this a serious question or something that you’re actually worried about?

@lipper, I’m little concerned. For example, what about the UCSC housing, am I going to have to go to Oakes to fit in? And, what about the Antisemitism going on at Davis?

How is UC Davis racist?

I think you’re using the wrong term. I wouldn’t call either school racist. Maybe ask which is more diverse, less segragated, etc.

Diversity:

UC Davis undergraduates, Fall 2010: 35% white, 15% hispanic, 39% asian, 3% African-American, etc.

UC Santa Cruz undergraduates: 45% white, 19% hispanic, 22% asian, 3% African-American, etc.

+1

how is Davis racist? Didn’t even know SC was racist, ■■■■■ maybe you might get hated on if you don’t blaze.

People are only racist online.

■■■■■ true that!

I hate all races equally :D

/facepalm

it’s california, not alabama…

i created a thread a while back about this. pretty lengthy.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1170959-racial-issues-oc-irvine.html

I think if you’re a nice person and treat others how you would like to be treated I think you’ll be fine at either school.

/thread

^ didnt happen in 66, or when i was in middle school

;D

I’d imagine UCLA is going through a period of fervent anti-racism with the whole Alexandra Wallace incident and all.

which i still think was over exaggerated by asians and the length they went to expose her personal information.

Yeah I agree. Posting her personal information and giving death threats to her and her family was unnecessary.

Welcome to the 21st century and mankind’s abuse of free speech. Anonymity is a powerful thing and drives people to say the stupidest, stupidest things that they would never even think about doing in the “real world”.

Word of advice: Visit the campuses yourself…have face to face conversations with people who actually went to these schools. Do not take any Internet ramblings on such things seriously.

The poster should thank his lucky stars that he lives in America and has the chance to go to a taxpayer funded state university, and not worry about purported “racism”. The very use of that word is offensive, because it has been so over-used.

No intelligent person in this country is interested in keeping any racial group down.
