Which UC net price calculator is most accurate?

My EFC is 10456, I am an independent married student w/ no children and no assets our combined income is about 46K. I have been using UC Berkley UCLA UCI and UCSD net price calculators and have gotten different numbers. Both UC Berkley and UCI say I qualify for a lot more aid then the UCLA and UCSD net price calculators. IDK which could be most accurate? I am trying to see how much I will need to save/ and get a some what close idea as to how much in loans I would have to take.

Is anyone familiar with which UCs net price calculator is most accurate? Or what type of aid I should expect. To be honest I was counting on the Blue and Gold program, since I don't get pep grant and might not get cal grant at all. However after looking at website, I think my EFC might be too hight for this program as well? Ive been trying to google it all day but I'm still not sure if EFC is important for this program. My income is well under 80k but idk if I am a student who "demonstrates financial need" according to fasfa.

Of course I know I HAVE to take out loans with my EFC but I am wondering how much it would be since at CSU I will need to take out loans. I want to see if it will be the same around the same amount, and if so I would rather go to a UC.

They each may have their own formulas. There isn’t a One Size Fits All for the UC’s. Berkeley is known to be the most generous. UCLA is often generous, too, but maybe because in your case the student is a married person/no kids it isn’t as generous?

I’m surprised by the UCI result. Did it include some merit?

Do you qualify for Cal Grants?

I don’t think the $80k rule always applies in cases like yours, but you do have need.

@mom2collegekids
UCB calculator did estimate a very large amount of aid about 18k in grants, and UCI calculator estimated the most which was about $19,589.00 - $20,589.00 in grants. UCLA estimator gave an estimated 19k in loans which i feel is going to be more accurate, than the other 2 especially with my EFC being high.
I applied for cal grants but i believe my income is above the limit for independent married students w/out children. I believe the limit is around 36k from what I’ve been reading.

UCLA estimated $19k in loans? I can see about $12k in Direct loans. How much in Perkins? That doesn’t sound right. Are you sure that’s all loans??

did you go to high school in Calif? Did you graduate from a Calif HS?

@Mom2collegekids I did it again it gives 10k grant and about the rest is loans n i guess work study or self help. I had misread it at first. I thought they were all loans.

Well, if you get into UCB and they give you a fab pkg then see if UCLA will match that. I don’t know why the two schools would be so different.

UCI seems to be giving you $20k in grants. Is any of that merit scholarships?

I ran the UCLA estimator and got a list price of about $29,000 minus grants of about $10,000 for a net price of about $19,000.

The Berkeley estimator got a list price of about $28,000 minus grants of about $17,000 for a net price of about $11,000.

Perhaps Berkeley is just more generous to non-traditional independent students than UCLA is.
