My GPA is 3.3 right now and i am going to apply next semester. I this semester my GPA is 3.5 and on summer i am going to take two more classes. Hopefully i can get 4.0. I am not sure. I want to go to UCI but my GPA is too low to apply tag. I don’t know should i tag ucsb or ucd? Which UC school that i have more chances to come in if i tag.
What major are you? How far are you on completing IGETC and major prereqs? What is your GPA for major prereqs?
i have seen people with perfect GPA’s get denied, and people with your GPA’s accepted. Do your best to get as high a gpa as you can and apply to all your dream schools.
It depends mostly on what your major is and how many pre-requisites for it you’ve completed by next Spring. I got into UCR, UCSC, UCI, UCSB, and UCD with a 3.2 GPA this Fall as a math major. I didn’t apply anywhere else, so don’t think negatively in terms of your GPA, just do your best, get all the pre-reqs you can for your major done (I think this is quite an important factor) and apply to all the schools you’d like to attend, don’t be put off of applying because you think you won’t make it
I applied with a 3.3 and I got into UCSD, UCD, & UCI! I tagged UCD because I didn’t meet the tag requirements of UCI tag. Like the above poster said, get as many pre-reqs as you can and that’ll really help out. I had my IGETC & major requirements finished by the time I applied which probably helped a ton.
Are you OOS? Did you have many extracurriculars/volunteer hours?
My gpa is lower than yours. I had no tags and I got into UCSB, UCSC and Berkeley for math and actually got rejected from some CSUs and UCR. I have all my major pre-reqs finished though. I did; however, take 3 years off of school after moving to another state to be a rancher and am not your traditional student. So there are so many factors: from your major to your personal statement. Gpa is not everything.
