Which UC should I choose? Bio/Pre-med

I’m an Asian American girl and I’m going into a bio/pre-bio major at my schools. I’ve been accepted into UC Davis with Regents for bio, UCSB with honors in the College of L&S as pre-bio, UCSD for bio in Sixth College, as well as UC Irvine. I was waitlisted at my dream school UCLA for physiological sciences.

My dreams are to study biology and I’m hopeful to eventually to go medical school! I’ve always been leaning toward SoCal schools. I’d also love to go to a school with some diversity.

My top choice right now is UCSB, I was invited to the honors program already and love the school, location and campus and believe I would be happy there. I am considering Davis simply because I know they are known for bio and has a medical school however I never pictured myself at Davis, it’s just somewhere I didn’t want to go to and don’t picture myself as happy there. UCSD is on my radar since their undergraduate science majors are great and the campus is nice however social life is very important to me and I haven’t heard great things about their social life. I also really do not like their six college system and I can’t find much info about the Sixth College or heard great things about it.

I’d just want to hear anybody else’s thoughts or advice? Is anybody going through a similar situation? Any advice or thoughts at all at much appreciated. Thank you!

What’s the real differences between Regents at Davis and Honors at UCSB? Would you get priority registration at both? Regents sometimes means substantial merit. What were you awarded.

As a premed, it’s probably a blessing to be WL’d at UCLA. They have far too many frosh premeds, and far too many med school applicants. You’d be just another face in the crowd.

Really, who cares where you pictured yourself at. It’s 4 years, you’ll be busy as a student and your medically related ECs. And when it comes to applying to med schools, again, location won’t matter. You’ll have to apply to a LOT of med schools and go wherever you get accepted to.
