considering my stats are low compared to other students, which UC’s do you think I have a chance at?
GPA: 3.45
ACT: 27 (composite score) ; English: 23 Math: 27 Reading: 32 Science: 24
Extra Circular Activities:
95 Hours of Volunteering
Volunteered at the church from freshman to junior year
Work at a coffee shop from sophomore to senior year
Majors I am interested in: Biology, physiology, and nursing
Alternative majors: business economics
UC’s I’m considering: Davis, Berkeley, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Merced, Riverside, Irvine
Only UC Irvine has a Nursing program (direct admit for Freshman) and your stats make it a Super Reach.
The rest of the UC’s other than UCLA do not offer a Nursing major, so you would have to do a Post Bacc program once you have completed your BA/BS.
Your posted GPA is well below the 25th percentile for all campuses except UC Merced. Your ACT is within range for most of the campuses however the UC’s tend to be very GPA focused.
Biological Sciences is also heavily impacted at the majority of the UC’s so to be competitive you would need a GPA and test scores at or above the averages.
If you are a California resident, I would concentrate on the Cal states instead and apply to UC Merced, Riverside and Santa Cruz only.
