i am definately applying to:
cal poly SLO
UC Davis
UCSD
UCLA
USD

unsure:
UC Berkeley
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC Irvine

here are my stats:
4.27 weighted GPA
1880 SAT
29 ACT

what are my chances of getting in to any of these schools and which ones are worth the money to apply to?

What is your UC gpa? With your scores I’d say Santa Cruz and Irvine are your best chance. SD and LA are a big reach. USD should be no problem.

you’ll probably get into all the UC’s, except perhaps cal and LA.

your 1880 doesnt help with berkeley or ucla

thanks for your imput. yeah i probably wont get into ucla but im applying just for the heck of it. do you think it is even worth it to apply to berkeley since my chances arent very good?

and im unsure about santa cruz and santa barbara because i always here how they are party schools…

Don’t apply to any UC schools out-of-state. They will stick you with awful tuition and peanuts for financial aid. The budget crisis really hurt them across the board, for CA residents and out-of-staters, but if you’re willing to put up with that, fine, they’re great schools, especially UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD. Don’t bother if you’re out-of-state, though, being a quarter million dollars in debt by the time you graduate (they like big bills and bigger high-interest loans) is not worth it.
