Which UC's?

I have a 3.2 uc Gpa
2300 on SATs
740 Us History
800 Math 2
220 hours community service
class president and treasurer
rep to the board of education
difficult life circumstances, (mother with failing health)
Captain of 2 sports teams varsity all 4 years in both

Which uc would be safe, which would be reach, and then far reach?

How did you have a 3.2 GPA and get a 2300 in your SATs? That is insane, I have never meet someone in real life with such a combination.

haha, like i said. some difficult life circumstances

Unfortunately for your record, it seems like UC’s place more emphasis on GPA than SAT’s. With that said, maybe the low-mid tiers are a match? I really have no idea. Just apply. Apply to some private schools that emphasis test scores. Use the essay as a chance to explain the mediocre GPA (very maturely, in a way that shows you have potential and take responsibility for your high school performance).

You should include in your personal statement regarding your situation and how it prevented you from getting a high GPA. I think you have a shot at all UC’s depending on your application. I’ve seen people with GPA less than 3.5 get into UCB and UCLA…

Even though you’r gpa is far below any UC’s average gpa, your SAT I and SAT II’s should help you get in at some of the UC’s. You’ll get into UCM and UCR for sure. Most likely UCSC.

I think at UCSB,UCI,and UCD, it’ll be a 50/50 chance, considering your gpa is low, but SAT’s are really high…soo who knows.

thank you for your help,
i also forgot to mention i attended COSMOS summer session at UCI
and took Math 2A and psych 7A at UCI and recieved A’s in both courses
would that give me a boost?

You can find the admit rate/profiles for each UC, by clicking on the school, then the pdf link here

[University of California - Admissions](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/selecting/camp_profiles/camp_profiles_ucsb.html)

Here is UCSB
http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/pdf/ucsb_chart.pdf

It doesn’t address the odds with a really lopsided profile.

There is also a link to details about what they look for. I think UCSC gives points for certain programs. Maybe COSMOS is one of them.
