<p>I am applying to UC San Diego and I need to rank the 6 subcolleges in order of preference. I was wondering what would be the best campus for an english/writing major? I hope to go into editing, publishing, or writing as a career. I know that the UCSD colleges aren't about major, but which do most writers choose? I am interested in studying abroad and in internships and work experience. I'm not necessarily interested in learning a foreign language or learning about diversity. Nice dorms and good food is also a plus.

Does the subcollege you graduate from matter in terms of graduate school and employment?

<p>I’m not too familiar with all the GEs but i know that it doesnt matter which you come out of. You still get a UCSD degree. Most people dont even know of the 6 colleges anyways.</p>
<p>The UCSD college you went to doesn’t matter for anything except making conversation with other alums. </p>
<p>As for writing- I think ERC is generally considered to have the most intense writing requirement (6 quarters).</p>
